Ladder Inspections

With the introduction of the new Work at Height Regulations, access ladders are often forgotten in terms of being compliance tested. It is a legal requirement to have all access ladders visually inspected every 12 months to BS 4211:2005.

Hutton Compliance installs, tests and certifies the following ladders:

• Vertical access ladders
• Fall arrest ladders
• Fall arrest ladder tracks
• Ladder ties

It is vital that all of the above are tested annually and meet the requirements of the original manufacturer to ensure that they are in good working condition and safe to use. It is the responsibility of the management company or property manager to ensure ladders, ladder tracks and ladder ties remain compliant.
 

What we look for:

• Loose fittings/fixtures
• Ladder tracks not running freely
• Snapped ladder ties
• Corrosion
• Bent or dented ladder
